I spent 2 dollar coins at the barber, 2 half dollars at a rest area on the turnpike, 1 dollar and 1 half dollar at the grocery store, 2 dollars at Rite Aid, 2 half dollars in the Salvation Army bucket, and 1 dollar in another bucket for someone standing on the street. This is 8.50 total.

A half for a cookie for desert. As I left, the two gals working the register oogled at it, and I noticed that she almost put two quarters in the take a penny bin. she noticed me watching from afar and asked if I wanted my change, "Wasn't that a dollar?". I told her "look at the coin again."
Two more of the uninitiated educated there, and I ought to be more careful about walking away when I plunk a half down if I don't want them to land in hot water for being short later.
