It's an unlisted 1927 florin varierty offered only to the 1927 collection by selection signees of the mint...you see the Melbourne Mint was light years ahead of the canberra mint

The damage is already done and there is no way of fixing that.
Totally ruined a great coin numismaticly, having said that I have bid on this.
it will look great glued to the front of my wallet.

I sure did. My husband used to have one of these rings. A chap he worked with took a liking to it and made my hubby an offer he couldn't refuse.

I also have a Canberra florin cut out the same as the one in the link, plus another version. I'll put up piccies tomorrow, Gotta get some zzzz's.

I showed this to my grandfather when he was over yesterday and he was intrigued by how skilled you would need to be to cut it so fine. I suppose they would use similar tools to cut gemstones?
