I have a real tough time grading Buffalo nickels. I'm never sure if it's a weak strike or wear that causes detail to look flat. This coin falls into that category for me. The seller says it's MS but I'd like some second opinions before I make an offer.
Thanks everyone for your help.

The 1913's are typically weaker struck I've noticed but, IMO, there is slight wear on the left leg and hair ribbon. Just my opinion, mid AUish.

Thanks for your input. The left leg and ribbon were also the spots I was most concerned about. I wondered too if there was slight rub in the hair just below the part. So hard to tell on these.

I think this is very close to MS, but is an AU piece, could be a slider. Maybe was MS and had the "drawer rub" happen to it prior to being put in a 2x2. Very very nice piece with excellent eye appeal and could possibly pass for MS60 with weak strike.

... You are right to think this one is a tough one to grade...

If I were buying I'd be under the assumption it is an AU coin.

I am leaning towards a high AU but it looks very close to MS.

It is indeed a tough call from these pics. I lean slightly toward 58.
