Here is a nice 1919 cent woody I picked up recently. What would you grade it?

I do keep my eyes pealed for woodies when I have a chance to look. There does appear to be wear on the high points, so I think AU for this one. It's hard to see the details in a photo with the woodgrain effect.

Just a touch of wear I think. I'll say AU-58

I often have trouble photography KGV obverses such that clearly evident 7 and 8th pearls show up. This photograph seems as if the pearls are a little worn or weakly struck.

Going by the photograph and not knowing if 1919 is known for being weakly struck around the pearls I would have to grade it around the EF mark... maybe a little better.

Its a beautiful coin though. I love the grainy look!

The mustache, centre crown beads and the ribbon on the shoulder compared to the leaf tips on the reverse, make me think you have a somewhat weaker strike on the obverse side. The pictures could be better, but it is probably EF-45 or AU-50.

The planchet has a wood grain appearance to it. NO its not made of wood just has that appearance if you use just a little imagination. Ths one is very nice!
