The coins look like they are in nice shape, but like DBM said we will need better pictures to accurately grade the coins.

Melt value is $19.27 a coin.
Judging by the pictures pretty much melt value coins

Dammm.....thanks Swrbxxx

what should I really look for when grading coins? major differences between circulated vs un circulated?
I just have trouble seeing a coin from 1950 that still shines with minor scratches being worth a coin thats been circulated/worn (melt value)

Dont get me wrong you may get a small premium on some of these coins. But if your in it for bullion investment grab any you can, as silver is silver.
I like to stick to third party graded dollars ICCS, CCCS.

your 1936 looks cleaned. If they had no dents, scratches or any scuffs you could probably get more than melt.

Ya your right again swrbxx.....
I bought a binder of these coins (12 dollars, 18 half dollars, 17 quarters, 27 dimes, and 5 cent pieces) all pre 67 for $400, two coin shops pretty much said "store" melt value at $440-460, so I'm just going to keep a few of each of the older coins (30's dollars, 20's half dollars, etc.) sell them to a private dealer and stick with my buillons and 3rd party graded coins.

I first impression is that the 1936 looks like it is an improperly cleaned coin.

Hilty,

If you paid 400$ thats a amazing deal. Hold on to them as scrap or tradebait. Or wait till you get 50 posts and sell them here on CCF

sounds good swrbxxx, got lucky on a kijiji listing 10 hours old, and thought I'd scoop it up because worse came to worse I knew I had around $400 in melt value, I really need to learn the difference in grading though circulated/uncirculated conditions have been confusing me so far

While it's still 50 posts before you can buy on CCF or post a want list it's now 250 posts before you can sell. :-(
