A friend found an old coin in a draw and asked if I could find out something about it. On one side there appears to be the Letters "N" and "P" near the top and a "2" near the bottom. On the the other side there appears to be a wheat stock or head of wheat.

That is all I can make out so any thoughts would be appreciated.

to CCF I think we would need photographs of the said coin to give you a better idea of what your friend may have found.

Appears to be a bronze prutah under Roman procurator Porcius Festus circa AD 59.
