Another case of wondering how this gem made it into circulation. Seems like someone might have broken up a mint set recently...

Somebody probably wanted the half for melt when silver was a high a little while back. The rest becomes spending money.

I agree, probably another death of a proof set.....doesn't that make the remaining proof sets more rare?

I was surprised when I looked in my pocket and saw it the first thing I did was get a tissue and wipe it off ever so lightly. I have it in a plastic coin sleeve I'm not sure what to put it in permanently I don't wanna ruin it and living in Alaska there isn't very many places to get a airtight container what is a good sight to get stuff like that and where I won't get ripped off .

That's an awesome find! I can't believe something that nice looking made it through the circulation grind - I wonder how long it was circulating. Not long I bet.

For storage of coins, I've been very happy with http://www.wizardcoinsupply.com/

I've ordered some Danscos from them, good quality, good prices. They also seem to have quite a good variety of other types of holders as well, depending on what you prefer.
