I recenly found this coin / token and am having some problem to identify it. It is of St George slaying the dragon and on the reverse is a wreath which has a very small hallmark ( I have not been able to make out the lettering)

Winchester31! Really would need photos to give you a proper ID. Even a photo of both sides with your cellphone would be helpful.

I think the hallmark could start with WW then over two other letters?

Looks more like a medal than a coin. I have no idea ... yet. Neat tho, and welcome to CCF!
I looked around, anything resembling this has a ship on the reverse and the spelling of St George reads Georgivse Patronvs where yours reads Georgus Patronus from what I can see. I saw a closing pocket watch with something like yours enclosed in the lid as if in a bezel.

Yep, it's not a coin, but a "St. George medal". St. George is the patron saint of soldiers and sailors. The more commonly encountered design has a ship on the other side; this particular type has a wrath and a blank spot where, presumably, the owner can engrave their name.

Reading back on the previous posts about these I see one good member said Quote: This particular medallion was often regarded as a protection against drowning by fishermen. I named my boat "Lucky Charm" last year when I bought it. The previous boat I had was named "Breaking Bad" and it lived up to and died by her name. I love to fish the river and was told to pick a better name for the new boat by my fellow boaters and fishermen. Thus the new name. I have a medicine bag, with all sorts of good luck charms in it, From horseshoes, 4 leaf clovers, to wishbones and more. I think I will try to find one of these St George medals to stick in the boat too. Can't be too superstitious can one? After all, I was a sailor in the Navy.

Opps forgot to mention that the piece is quite small at only 15mm.

Is there any evidence of it having a loop removed? I like your medal, looked quite a bit and could not find another anywhere,

Not that I can see it seems totally smooth. I´ve searched high and low and cannot find anything either. Was hoping to place the hall mark but am having problems to read it, might take it into a jewellers and see if they have any better luck.
