The description says it was "whizzed". I think I would have gone with "Brillo Padded"...

I just have the feeling someone thought. "You know, I bet my grill brush will take care of that tarnish on my key date Peace dollar."

If anyone were to describe the term "harsh cleaning" this would be the attached photo...

What a crying shame. No matter how bad it looked like it needed to be cleaned it surely looked better before it was put through this torture.

At this point, someone with a talent for whizzing could probably improve its appearance...

"whizzed" doesn't quite describe this.

Probably wouldn't be worth buying at any price. No pride of ownership or resale potential. I agree, a little more doctoring might not hurt.

I actually feel sorry for the seller to have to move a coin like that. Honestly, if I was a dealer, and somebody came to me with a coin that looked like that, I would turn them away. I couldn't stand to have it in my inventory.

I am not a proponent of melting coins but this dollar needs to be put out of its misery even if it is a 1928. Perhaps a good light buffing will remove the scratches and make its appearance a little more palatable. Ed ANA LM-3175

At this point, it's nothing more than bullion.
