SilverTowne now has the PCGS 70's in stock once again for the same price ($240).

Amassey, Glad I could help. I've received lots of tips from members here, so I'm happy to contribute when I get the chance.

We definitely appreciate it SD.

But I cant imagine they will last for to long. By far the best price on the set. I'm sure most places will start charging over 300 soon

I received 2 sets and one set has a crack in the reverse on the RP near the banner and the SP has frost that makes it look like the eagle has a branch in its beak. Should I send this back and get new ones? Thanks

These sets are already going for $200 on ebay which is like $180 after fees, I'm glad I got a set, my dad bought 15 sets, I have no idea why but at this point it looks like it was a good investment.

If they arent perfect Id send them back for an exchange. If they say they cant do exchanged I may consider just having them reholdered by PCGS

1) if you send them in for exchange and they can't exchange then you will get a refund...no other option

2) If they are "not perfect" then why would you get them graded at all? (not 'reholdered since they are not "holdered" yet)

Color me confused...

Right where in that case I may just keep them instead of getting the money back.

I may be wrong but I thought he was talking about the 70 set from silvertown that he had gotten and not the set from the mint. I also though he was referring to damage to the slab instead of the coin.

But after rereading it I think I just assumed it was the 70 set since we had been talking about that when it does sound more like hes talking about the mint set.

Here is what PCGS had to say when I asked them about sending in these coins. They don't mention anything about them having to be shipped to you within the first 30 days, as long as they are still in the shipping box they say, maybe they just left that part out? ............

PCGS response.......
We have not yet set our First Strike cutoff date because the coins were just shipped, but it should be near the end of August. You can open the box as long as you plan to send in the coins right away. You can send them in and receive the First Strike designation after the cutoff date as long as they are still in the sealed shipping box from the mint.

So basically if you want that FS label then you better have been in the first group of orders. Did they happen to mention about the set label? With the S coin appearing in the new set can you still cherry pick the SF sets in the last order group for what to send in and get the set label or will those have to come in unopened

It DOES NOT say "75th Anniversary" anywhere on the set I received from the US Mint. Why is PCGS putting that on the label?

Because its the 75th anniversary of the new sf mint building and was the justification for the set and the wave of S products this year

Sorry, I got them new from the US mint. They are imperfections in the coins.

Sorry about that that was my mistake. The mint gives you 7 days to send them back if you are going to.

I would have them replaced if possible, if all they can do is give you a refund then you have to decide if the imperfections are worth keeping or not. If you arent happy with it I would send it back though.

Itll cost a little more to replace than what you would have paid but silvertown is selling them for 180 I think right now which isn't to bad
