I don't know if anyone's posted this yet, and I apologize if someone already did. The new set is said to contain a proof and reverse proof....both with "S" mint marks. This set is to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the SF mint. No word on the release date, price, mintage, or purchasing limits. This calls for a fruit dance!! I expected some sort of special release after the mint sent that survey, and this seems to fit. Sign me up!! I will be getting this set!! Source: http://numismaster.com/ta/numis/Art...icleId=25045

After the 2011 A25 Set debacle, these will be 500,000 mintage, and one per household. This would have been a nicer set if it had been a three-coin set, with the 2012-S Uncirculated ASE. The two coins in the 75th Anniv. SF Set are most likely exclusive to this Set, so...

I love the reverse proofs, we will be getting at least one. I wonder what the next excuse will be to mint one.
* Yeah, it's Tuesday, let's do a reverse proof * Yeah, the politicians crossed the street without getting hit by a car, let's do a reverse proof * Yeah, the politicians got hit by a car crossing the street, let's do a reverse proof * Yeah, the sun came up, let's do a reverse proof

Wonder what the selling price will be. Do you guys think these will be worth a lot more than selling price like the 25 anniv set? I missed out on the 25th set, don't want to miss out on another good sale.

Thanks a bunch for posting this!
They will start striking them on May 11th. I could see it priced at $119. Anything less would be a nice discount, since a single one costs $59.95.
And the robots aren't doing a very good job. Hence the drop in quality.

In typical "US Mint fashion"......given time and popularity, these too, will be overproduced, over-sold, over-priced, and over-marketed. And the end result will be a watered down product that will be worth "melt & a little more", I predict. There may be the typical "early boon" for profit hunters....if they're FAST in the turnaround, but I doubt prices will stay up for very long at all.
So I'd say, order them for the beauty of the coins, not for the potential profit you won't likely see !
History is an unforgiving teacher more stubborn than one could ever be !

After my failure to obtain one of the 25th anniversary sets, I am reluctant to get too excited right now. However... Quote:This would have been a nicer set if it had been a three-coin set, with the 2012-S Uncirculated ASE. I might have been more interested in that one.

I agree that a 3-coin set with an S-mint UNC. would be better! It would be a good match for the 20th anniversary set. Regardless I will be getting this set. I imagine that the mintage will be high, and the ordering limits will be low, but I don't care!! I still want it! Another thought, with s-mint marks on both coins, there will be no need for the "sealed box" hassle at the TPG's like with the 25th sets.

gr dont recall seeing an actual number in the article and believe thats just a guess.
Im guessing that after last year it probably will be a higher than 100k mintage but 500 might be high
Worse things can happen from the mints standpoint then selling out quickly and assuring themselves a profit on the item

this time I will pass on it, the 25th anniversary hype was enough now they are flooding these S mints and mintage will be way high this time just not interested anymore in these ASE's and these so called gimmick coins "ooh look a reverse proof" is so played out - my opinion of course I know alot of you still love those

In 2006 it was special! The only reverse proof US coin!
In 2011 well at least it is in a special set even though now there are two reverse proof coins.
In 2012 well it's another "special" set I guess.
In 2013? Looks like these reverse proofs are going to become just another annual coin to get more of our money, nothing special about them at all.

I think 500,000 is high .. with a mintage that high many collectors/dealers will not be very excited about them. I disagree with the negative comments. Either you want the special set and will try to get this one. Or you don't want it or care enough to put the effort in ...to get a order in. In the recent past there have been three special set that sold out quickly. 2006 20th aniversay silver eagle set (250,000) 2009 Lincoln C&C set (50,000) 2011 25th aniversary set (100,000) All of these set were hard to order, all of them were worth getting at issue price. The purpose of these sets is to have a low mintage collectible. If they minted enough for everyone .. then they would not be worth having. If you don't choose to play/order .. that is fine. But why complain? For the standard ASE collector there will be the regular proof, burnished/uncirculated and bullion coin. For me .. I will not decide until I see the numbers and price. This could end up being the best set offered so far .. or not. If I had to guess the mintage will be between 75,000 to 100,000 with maybe one or two per household and cost $145-$175... of course that is just my guess.
