Either the sets everyone on here are getting are a lot of bad luck or the quality over all seems to be kind of poor is the impression I'm getting. I wonder if they made any adjustments for the later shipping sets

My RP's were fine but the proofs had issues in 4 of 8. One has a dark spot developing already. I just don't want to give up an RP just to return the set...

I have only looked at one set so far and my RP looks like a 70 to me ( but I'm no pro grader ), I can't see any thing wrong with it. But when I looked the regular proof over and found the pin hole in the middle of the sun and a couple of other areas that looked questionable, I decided I better order a 70 set from Silvertowne because I really didn't think this one would come back even a 69. Should be interesting to hear about the grades when they start coming back.

Got my two sets. RPs are perfect, but one regular proof coin has a little spot.

I Had intended to send 6 sets in hoping to get 2 sets of 70 PCGS first strike. But when SD informed us about Silvertowne it was a no brainer

It Costs an average of about $34 dollars to get First Strike, that plus coin cost: averages about $220 a Set, So a $20 premium for a guaranteed set of 70s

I just noticed Silvertowne is still out of stock, but has raised the price $10

They must be started to get low on how many are left they sent in. That or fewer than expected came back 70s in the new batch.

Had I known they were going to have such a great deal I honestly might not have ordered from the mint at all

How do you suppose the rims wound up like this....
Mach1 it seems I should of been a little clearer when I filled out that survey for the US Mint.....Cause when it asked for ways the mint could improve its service...... I asked for more consistency
And I just noticed in the last pic I posted, of the Reverse RP, the shield looks like it has scratches inside of it. But that's just the reflection of camera strap.
Now as for the little marks above the eagles head, just after the D in United, and just outside (Unum) to name a few.....
How bad do marks like this effect the grade?

Check out "In God We Trust" Would this be considered Machine Doubling. It also shows around the letters or LIBERTY and parts of design. (Around ray's parts of Libertys Dress.

Baseball21 If I knew Silvertowne would have such a reasonable 70 set, I wouldn't of ordered from the mint...Well probably just one set...lol
Something has to satisfy the gambler in me....lol
And when I think about it, being I'm not a PCGS member, I'm actually saving money going with Silver Towne's PCGS 70 Set. "Dancing Fruit"

I got my set on Saturday and both coins are of high quality. The packaging is similar to the five coin set from last year and seems a little excessive to me. Comparing the three reverse proofs I find that the 2012 s to not be "grainy" looking in the fields as the others seem to be.

Amassey youre absolutely saving money with the silvertowne set. I probably would have ordered a raw set maybe too from the mint anyway but definitely not the 5 I got to cherry pick. Hopefully ebay prices will be high enough by then to pay for the 70 set

I Ordered 12 Sets to Cherry pick

Returned 4 to the mint this AM

Was going to send 6 sets To PCGS, but with the deal they are giving at silvertowne I ordered 2 70 sets and returned 4 leaving me the 10 I originally wanted

I wont lie I couldnt help myself and got 4 of the silvertowne. I dont see that being the market price those stay at especially considering what others comments it doesn't seem like a whole lot from private hands will end up getting the 70s if sent in. Ill keep 1 raw for sure and look through the rest. If anything is real bad itll go back an may send in 1 just for the excitement to see.

Wif definitely post an update when you find out what pcgs gave your sets. I'm very interested to see what the pop reports will look like when they come out

Anyone else have a problem with getting shorted a set? I had 2 orders of 5 sets each, and one only had 4 sets in it. The shipping labels both showed the same weight but luckily the UPS website showed one package was over a pound lighter than the other. Going to call the Mint to see if they'll send 1 more set. I imagine PBGS was so slammed in getting these out that mistakes were bound to happen. If you intend to keep any sets factory sealed, might want to weigh the box to make sure!
