I found this in an old piggy bank along with a bunch of wheat and Indian Head cents, never really paid to much attention to it, took it out the other day to take to the coin shop to see what it was worth. When I flipped it over I noticed that the back was not lined up with the front. I dont know anything about dimes, I collect pennies so I didnt know if this was rare or actually an error. Any comments would be much appericiated! Sorry for the bad pictures they were taken with my phone. Photos were taken with the date square to the bottom.

Slight rotation probably not much added value but still a cool find.

Kind of amazed I've had this coin for over 20 years and just now noticed. Only reason I hung onto it is because I found it in an old cast-iron piggy bank from my great uncles barn. Also had a large blanket type 1$ bill, a Columbus commemorative from 1892 and a bunch of pennies. The pennies in it is what got me started collecting. Maybe I should hold off on taking all my none cent types to the coin shop lol. I was going to see if they'd let me trade it for some pennies

1837 No Stars type coin! Awesome and one of my favorite seated designs, reminds me of the Gobrecht dollar patterns without the stars on the front, I love the look of these!!!

As posted above a slight rotation will only add a few dollars to the coin, but still something, I'd add on $10.00 above whatever the price is going for on the rotation.

Still maybe 100$ for a dime. Not a bad find lol. It's in better condition then the picture shows. Little tarnish and liberty on the shield is visible with weak spots. Thanks for the info! Now wondering if I should ebay it or trade it for pennies. Lol
