The $10 is 64-present though, not pre 64. Thanks for the heads up. Not a bad deal at all, unless you're trying to sell em on ebay...

I usually wait until they have the any US coin from the Red Book for $10 and free return shipping. They usually run this once a year The I go to a local show and submit. That way I don't have to pay outward shipping either. Puts it a flat $10 per coin almost economical.

just and fyi for the ebay part. ANACS has already said they are getting their website up for cert checks. Once they have that running youll be able to list them on ebay at grade. Even till then they can still be sold with pictures with their grade you just cant mention the grade in the listing. I wouldnt let the ebay policy deter you from using ANACS if you were planning on it

I wish that ANACS would go back to the old style small white holder!

Hello, I have three questions: A) Quote: I wish that ANACS would go back to the old style small white holder! What is the problem that bugs you about the new ANACS holder that replaced the older style small white holder? B) Is there any way that an interested buyer can get notified by email when ANACS will be running their grading special of $ 10 per coin for 'any' coin (post '64 and/or '64 and older)? I do not have time to be routinely checking web sites and will most probably forget about this special otherwise. C) Do NGC and/or PCGS ever run grading specials somewhat similar to ANACS? Thanks, mdpmedia

I'll answer best as I am aware on the questions; A. The old holder was small, it looked good, was solid and hard to open, The new holder, while nice looking and easy to see in a box, is kind of large, it seems to scratch more easily and breaks easier too. When you have a lot of coins you end up spending so much to store the package in a safe or safety deposit box, I could get about 30% more coins in each S/D box I have if they were in older style holders. Also when photographing the slab, having a curved top 1/3 presents a focus issue to many. B. Not that I am aware of, I a member of ANACS and occasionally they send out an email, but nothing consistent or regular, usually just a note that there is a new letter from management up on their website. C. I have seen a couple specials from PCGS over the years, but nothing like ANACS does or even regular specials each years, PCGS did a special when they started running Top100 Morgan dollars way back when (mid 90's?) and have seen a few show specials or gold coin specials. Maybe someone else can correct me if I'm wrong. Since I'm an ANA Life Member I send to NGC once in a blue moon under that program, and I'm not a member of either PCGS or NGC clubs any more.

It does seem that PCGS runs specials quarterly. Could be wrong but it seems like they are more for certain types of coins as opposed to ANACS one. I actually just found this so dont hold me to that statement, I would need to call and verify it if no one has more information on the matter. http://www.pcgs.com/ccspecial.html
