Is anybody here buying into this one?

I am referring to the $99.99 2012 set described below:

Includes the Proof Silver Dollar in fine silver (99.99% pure) and impressive proof versions of Canada's traditional circulation coin designs struck in solid alloys: nickel (5, 10, 25, 50¢ and $2 outer ring), brass ($1 and $2 inner core) and copper (1¢).
40,000 sets minted worldwide.

Do you think this set will hold, decrease or increase its value?

^It really has nothing going for it. The "Expensive" one has a cool penny and is gold plated. The specimen one is much cheaper and has the special Looney. The only thing this has is a regular Silver dollar. There will also be the "Special" specimen set on the next issue with the special Tooney. There are too many sets and this one isn't unique enough to hold its value. It is a bust.

I went for the expensive one as they still had some available at the mint and I haven't had any luck getting one of the pennies off ebay for anything close to a reasonable price. I also got the regular Proof and BU silver dollars as separate coins. Wasn't worried about the rest of it. I've picked up most of the proof sets I have for about 70-80% of issue price on ebay a couple of years or more after they were issued so I expect this would be similar.

^^ The one cent seem to have flown higher since the announcement of the end of the circulation one cent.

I think people are expecting the future sets to not include a one cent. You know, like the 50 cent. :)

I don't expect it'll hold it's value too well either (certainly not an increase), but I bought it anyway. I held off on the earlier proof set because of the price and because I actually prefer the silver dollar without the gold plating. And because I knew this set was coming I held off buying a proof silver dollar separately.

I kind of like that these coins are struck in their traditional alloys, as opposed to all being silver. I'm looking forward to it's arrival but it's been almost 2 weeks since I ordered it and it's still showing as 'new order' on the RCM website (not even 'processing').

I am thinking of getting it as a way to keep my one and two dollar coin collection complete. I purchased the silver loonie and toonie separately early on and I never did buy an 1812 dollar coin.
