Last Thursday I won a Canadian coin on ebay Since I dont use paypal I contacted the seller who assured me a money order would be fine. Well it is now Monday and I have sent this guy 4 messages requesting his mailing address with no response. Perhaps he assumes I have a crystal ball or can mind read the address? Anyway since I have 100% positive feedback and do not want to receive a negative or a non paying buyer strike Any idea if my feedback can be damaged by this?

I am pretty sure he can not leave you a negative. Did you send your 4 email through ebay? If he does go the non-paying route you can let ebay see that you tried contacting him. What is his feedback rating? Does he have a suspect record?

I am sure the fellow is just on holiday or maybe busy with his real job. I sold something on ebay a few weeks back and it took two weeks to get paid--the buyer went on March break and forgot he had bought it. You have 60 days to leave feedback so your options are open for a long time. I am sure the buyer knows he owes you an answer. Stay calm and carry on! As a buyer you are totally protected. The seller can't give you negative feedback. You hold all the feedback power

Hes got 1006 positives, 3 neutrals and 4 negatives. Some of these appeared to be from ax grinders. All my requests were sent through ebay. I'm not trying to slam the guy just dont want an undeserved negative

As long as the emails were sent through ebay you have nothing to worry about. Even if he leaves you a negative, you can contact ebay and request that it gets reversed. Provide evidence that you made every effort to make payment, and you won't have a problem. As smallcentguy said, the seller is probably out of town and ebay is not his #1 priority.

Note that ebay has automatic filters for emails and addresses in messages. If you must send your email or address, try being a little creative...

Paypal is the safest and simplest way to go when purchasing on E-bay. As a matter of fact it is far more secure than giving your credit card to a waiter/waitress at a high end restaurant when paying a bill. Highly recommend you sign up! Glenn

As a buyer I really like PayPal. The few problems I have had over the years with non-delivery and SNAD were readily resolved by them (and later ebay Buyer Protection). As a seller I'm less crazy about it, primarily for the fees, which seem to go up every year. (I'm such an old geezer that I remember when it was free - really!) I've heard (but not verified nor experienced) horror stories from sellers who claim they got screwed by the buyer, who used PayPal to get an improper refund. As a seller on ebay without access to any credit card processing, I'm forced to accept PayPal. But even if ebay didn't require it, I'd probably still use it since buyers love it.

He can't leave you a negative. Your emails protect you on the non payment issue.
