Hello and welcome to CCF!

My catalog says $7.50 - 15.00
I've never seen one offered below $20, usually people ask $25 - 45 a piece.

Ive got one from 1793, yours is pretty good condition. As previously stated by other members anywhere from $20-$45. I've seen a few listed on ebay for $80 but I don't think any one bought those at that price as these are pretty common due to high mintage. Mintage for my coin from 1793 was 7,426,000.

keep the coin, personally, mine is worth more than $40 to me because of its age and the fact that I've had it in the family forever.

Royalsilver, can you show us your 1793 5 kopek? Reason why I'm asking is it's known that a fair number of coins were overstruck over 1796 10 kopek.

Much less than that actually. I've bought decent examples for less than $15, and examples in AG go as low as $5. This presumably means that svslav's catalog is just about right
The problem is mainly that it's officially illegal to export them (a situation, IIRC, not exactly unique to Russia).

Fun fact: I've been trying for several months to put together a type set of one-copeck coins with as many different types as possible.
I think by now I'm only missing three types from Catherine II's reign to present - of which two are minor variations from the 1950s which I just didn't know of until relatively late in, and the third is priced in the $200 range so I'm not getting it anytime soon - but it's been a pain to even get all of those (I had to pay about $7 for the Proletaries piece, and it took me a very long while to even see a Mason Eagle piece offered).

Not all 5 kopeks are cheap - there are key dates and rarer coins out there. I'm still looking for a 1795 5 kopek Moscow Mint to match with my 2 and 1 kopek coin. Obviously that's going to be very very difficult.
