Hi guys. A newbie here. Are you saying that this is mint damage (MD) as opposed to post mint damage ( PMD)? Either that, or Jefferson was a medical doctor.

Machine doubled. The dies moved during the strike damaging the devices. It happens a lot on the half dollars.
