Ram-strike. The extended lip and the bevelled edge opposite the extended lip are the give aways. Is the edge reeding on the coin opposite the raised lip weak or non-existent?

Top looking coin. Never seen a ramstruck round decimal coin before and now I've seen two on this forum in 12 hours! Don't suppose you want to sell it?

Virtually no reeding opposite & a strange dent in the rim,i figured it was a ramstrike after seeing the 1 cent topic last night.

Dent looks like PMD. The lack of reeding confirms what it is. The planchet was slightly off centre when struck which is why there's no reeding. Nice coin!!

Very nice. I'm love the high raised lips...my only issue is storage...they're a bummer to store.

RAM errors are scarce, and this extent of error very much so. I have never seen one like this priced before, my guess would be around the $100 mark.

I have plenty of those round plastic coin holder from the mint in various sizes along with the flash box the original coin came in.
One of these would be ideal to store this little beauty in.
PM me your address appleangel07 and I will send you one.
The dollar one might be OK but the 10 dollar one would be better I think due to the width of your 10 cent coin

Thanks PP & Mark, I think I have a couple of 5 cent coins with this error & a couple of pre decimals,it will take a while to find them but will post some more pics here when I do.

Trout,Thanks for the offer but I have it in one of those black plastic squares with the super thick mylar which sort of enhances the coin, jumps right out at you if you know what I mean, looks great & super good protection.

At least one of the 5 cent coins I have & thought was a ramstrike is in fact a out of collar broadstrike with an unusually high vertical lip,the coin has no reeding at all.
