This images are not that good but you can see the curve coming out of the ear. Maybe it is because the description indicates that the coin was tampered with on purpose?

I don't know anything about this variety...never heard of it.
Photos are okay, title looks to cover much, description looks fine.
Not much interest it looks like, that's all.

Fair enough, I figured with the price they were getting for the quarters there might be some interest in these....guess not.  |

It might just simply be my own monitor settings but...
you photos look really, really bright on my screen. They don't show very much detail on the coin.

I don't know why the pictures are so bright, I have tried direct light, with flash, no flash and they are either coming out pink, black or extra bright?  |

I edited your images and didn't like what they looked at. But here an image you might like to use next time:  You probably need to reduce the glare on your images for coins. Depending what your setup it can be acomplished pretty inexpensively. If you are using a warm bulb even grocery plastic bags can do this. Just need to place them away from the light in the direction the light reaches your coin. See if this helps? |

The image is very washed out. If I was looking for this type of coin I would probably close the page as soon as it opened because it is so difficult to see any detail in the pics.

Especially since you mention you got this coin from circulation. Got to be able to determine the quality of the coin after circulating.

You should simultaneously list it in the US coins: Errors category, not simply under "dimes". Also use the term "2004-D double ear dime", since that's what most folks are familiar with. Error coin writer and researcher.

Hi Mike, I found an old response from you in regards to this coin circa 2004. Is the following still true?
Parties involved in the discussion have agreed to diagree. Ken Potter, Jose Cortez, John Bordner, John Wexler, and Billy Crawford are convinced it's a misaligned die clash. James Wiles, Bill Fivaz,Tom DeLorey, and yours truly don't find this a credible explanation.
I don't know if anyone is still holding out hope it is a doubled die. I don't think it is. Although the shape conforms to the helix(outer part) of Roosevelt's ear, the ridge is much too broad and the
cross-sectional profile is wrong.
I'm leaning toward some kind of erratic die damage, like a die dent. Other forms of die damage may fit the bill.
So, I guess like many die defects, this one will remain in the suspense account for the forseeable future.
It is amazing there really is not very much info available online in regards to this coin. What is the current expert opinion? Is it a doubled ear, added image, die clash or something else?
Does anybody have any idea of value or previous sales, I can not find anything.

Let us know when you relist, I would be interested in bidding  I almost bid last night when I saw this post but that would have been rather unfair of me since you were strongly considering ending the auction. |

Someone did contact me on ebay and I am thinking of doing a trade with him for a Wisconsin extra leaf quarter. So now I don't know what to do. Does anybody have a range of value on the Roosevelt variety? Edited by beachloan
