Sorry, I have never seen this one before. I just looked at the website for the National Numismatic Collection at the Smithsonian but they do not have the complete collection online yet

I tried to look in National Numismatic Collection yesterday too and I could not find it :( Conder101 how can you tell it is poor copy? I'm just trying to find more ways to compare this coin to other copies. And does anyone recommend a place in northern Indiana to have this possibly looked at? Thanks

Aye that looks like a sand/clay cast copy. A master cast was probably made by carving a relief into a piece of clay before metal or plastic was poured over it (hence why the text looks like it was made with a toothpick :-) ). Then that master cast (when cool and cleaned up) was stamped into a sand or clay casting medium before the final metal was poured into it.
To a counterfeit collector it may be worth $3-5.

Quote: Conder101 how can you tell it is poor copy? Compare your coin to the picture in the RedBook. The RedBook picture is of the unique genuine piece. The fonts of the letters on your coin do not match those on the coin in the picture. The coin in the picture shows with serif lettering while your coin has simple "stick figure" san-serif lettering. The tree and liberty figure have a definite rounded relief while the tree on yours is flat and once again stick like. The figure of Liberty (or whoever she is) is also flat and lacking in detail. It is a little better than a line figure but not by much. it also looks like it may be a cast piece but I can't tell for sure from the images.

As Conder pointed out, all cast copies will have that "stick figurish" look.
