Wishful thinking?! After my failed thought of one yesterday... has today's box proven that my wishful thinking will cause success? 99.9 % sure on this one! What do you think?

Looks like one to me, although it has seen better days. What I look for is that the "A" is the same distance from the "M" as the "E" is, and that's what it looks like on this coin. Good find! I'm still looking for a '99.

Thanks Dave! Its actually odd, the obverse looks BU and rich red. The reverse, as it appears in the scan looks to be horrible, but it seems to be coated with a flaky glue, which has peeled off in small areas to reveal a brilliant underneath. Should I treat it in any way?

Acetone would probably let the remainder of the glue lift off. Be careful, 1999 is the scarce one.

Acetone is very safe and easy to use...just soak it. Try 10 minutes at a time until the glue comes off. You can always try on a common cent to see for yourself.

NICE -
yea I recommend you try a different coin first . with maybe a sim look to it .. see how it works on that , then give this one alil soaking .. Acetone is something I use even on my morgans to remove some residue hanging around ..
But again good find , and test the cleaning on a different coin first just so your comfortable with it to use on this one ..!! Very cool and scarce !! Glad to see there out there :) ..
Congrats ... Phil \m/

The reverse is indeed a WAM ... how about a photo of the obverse? Regarding acetone ... Be sure to purchase the pure stuff .. finger nail polish will not be what you want ... 100% acetone ... go to your hardware store. It is a very flammable liquid ... do not soak this coin near an open flame ... including cigarettes. All that said ... the organic residue as show will lift off with no damage to the coin if you have the patience to soak in acetone. Then ... we want photos of both sides so we can David

Was this your first WAM? If so it is an amazing find. If it only your first '99 WAM it is still a great find.I've found '98 and 2000 but no '99.
