Hi. I have missed the forum, and haven't been as active as I used to be.....I have somewhat joined the "real" EXTRA dark side, as stamp collecting and selling has taken a lot of my time. Sheesh, I thought coins were complicated, stamps take complication to a whole new level. Enough about that, I am 3 coins away from completing my Indian Half Eagle Set!! The bummer is, 2 of those coins will cost me more than I have invested in the rest....combined! This is a whole different animal than say an Indian Head cent collection....where you can fill many holes inexpensively. Every hole filled represents an achievement, and many of these dates are just flat out unavailable. The 11-D half eagles is many times more rare than the 11-d quarter eagle, but the quarter eagles are more popular to collect, so the 11-d quarter eagle has more value because of that. Also it is the ONLY key date to the series. I hardly ever see the 1908-s on ebay, and when I do see any, there are only 1 or 2 available and they are way overpriced. The NGC 1908-s is my most recent purchase. The 1909-O? really tough....and the 1929 HA, forget about it!! I might be able to buy a low grade or damaged 1909-O someday. I wish DANSCO would make specific pages for these, as now I have to make my own pages. Anyways, I hope you enjoy this little set. Edited by johnny54321 05/01/2012 1:48 pm

! That's pretty and expensive, its out of my reach for the time being to complete a set like that. I only have a 1925-D quarter eagle grade MS-64 by PCGS. The halves are easier to handle. LOL!

Dansco should make albums for these, but instead of the tan pages, they should use a grey or something for more contrast with the coins.
