Hey all. Here is a neat dug 1873 Seated Liberty half dollar Love Token. I assume this a closed three no arrows. Its hard to tell. It is rough! But it has some great engraving as a love token on the reverse. The date is worn. But the three is still easy read. Looks like a closed three to me. So I assume it is a "p" mint no arrows. I am going by the "3". If I am wrong. Then. It could be... I dunno. Need your opinions. Thanks.
I plan to sell it. As I don't collect love tokens. But I figure someone might want it even in this rough condition.

Yeah its a closed 3 nice love token though. I have one that looks just like that on a quarter of the same decade.

That is what I thought. That makes it even more interesting to me, as it is still identifiable by the closed three. So I know its a P mint, no arrow 1873 love token. The pictures don't do it much justice. It is toasted a bit sure. But the engraving is really really neat. And all of it is still there.
I see "B. I. B." But it could be BLB? I dunno. What do you think on the center letter?
I don't collect these coins. (I would if they had my name, or initials. Would wear one of those for sure.)

I would like to see your 1873 Quarter love token. I know with old love tokens and even the worlds fair pop out coins. The higher denomination coins used. The "wealtheir" or higher "class" the person had, or were trying to show off. And that is why dimes are the most common.

Icy bib, too.
As rare a half dollar love tokens are, I'd say you're looking at $50-100 retail.

I think the "I" is actually a "J".
