Love that lowball 1949 kuh_85, thanks for sharing. I was hoping we would see more pocket pieces for this series...

I saw it advertised on ebay as 'The worst 1949 dollar I've ever seen' from an East Coast dealer. Had to have it! :-) I'm thinking it was lost on a beach for a few years before being found again but that's just speculation. It's so worn it's lost over 10% of its weight.

Well, I don't have many silver dollars in my collection, but I do like the nice proof-like and specimen strikes, when I see them. That said, I just won this item today on ebay, and I hope it is every bit as nice in hand as it is on the screen. In my opinion, I think I got a heck of a deal here, and I can finally participate in this thread. So, meet my new 1951 proof-like dollar.

Nice coin and buy there SPP. I was watching that dollar myself on ebay. I'm sure when you get it you'll like it. PL-66 dollars are spectacular looking coins and very few PL dollars were issued in the early 50's. Congradulations and enjoy. Today is 1951 dollar day so it's even the right day to show it.

You guys make me homesick, I used to live not too far south of the border in PA and loved (love) collecting Canadian coins. The coin shops, at the time, carried some Canadian coins that I was usually able to get at bargain prices. Although I never got anything like the pieces all of you are posting. Thanks for sharing - amazing coins!
