I am not 100% sure or not, but I don't think they have.

Since I bought these purely as bullion, I'm not overly concerned with milk spots or other issues. In fact, other than the one tube I opened, I don't even plan to inspect the other coins.

But sometimes I like to take mine out and look at them, and I see the one with the milk spots

Are you gonna buy another when it hits $25, I am for sure. Though I do like SML I would probably never buy a box in this country, truth is Americans pay more for American coins at least on ebay. I have been adding to my silver dollars lately as with the price of silver dropping fast I can buy them for cheaper but they still have a lot more intrinsic value. One thing is true I believe you have more silver then me now, so I guess I need to do some buying lol If you are doing all this buying with cash you should checkout CL. I have great luck buying cheap silver there.

You think silver is gonna hit $25 When do you think this is going to happen? I might wait for silver to hit $25.

Well, my wife has asked me to limit future purchases to around $2000 a piece, so no more monster boxes for the foreseeable future. Of course, that leaves plenty of room for $100 face value bags of 90% silver... As for ASE vs. SML, you may very well be right, which is why my first purchase was a monster box of ASEs. The price for the SMLs was significantly cheaper, however, and I did like the look of them. Besides, in purely bullion terms, I'm sure that the SML is equally regarded as "legitimate" silver bullion and I don't expect to have any trouble selling them at or near spot if and when the time comes.

I think that silver may touch $20 by the end of the year, and thats me sitting a bunch I bought in the middle 30's. I'm not worried at all though I don't need to cash out anytime soon as this is more of a legacy I will leave for my kids. So I figure I have about 30 years till retirement and two healthy business's so I will probably be buying to the day I die. I hope someday to have 10,000 oz silver and a 1000 oz of gold, along with a top 50 ranked set of Morgans, if not more.
To be honest I will prob never stop buying, I enjoy the accumulation.
Barry,
You are only talking a $.60 per coin difference in price. If you were to sell the eagles individually you would recoup that money plus some. Like I said before Americans love eagles, they just do.

Well, after I bought my monster box of ASEs awhile back, a number of members suggested that SMLs were a better deal with more upside due to popularity.
I guess they must have all been Canadian...

I have the complete collection of both and I dare say, being american, I really prefer the looks of the SML..... Besides, ASE's are only worth $1.00 while SML are worth $5.00

I am not liking the milk spotting which forms on these Canadian coins, an I think in time as more form, the value will fade as well with the populairty an high premium over spot for these coins....
I think Phil harmonics look great for the price, but seemed to be real undervalued on this side of the planet. New 2012's are selling around 32 each at Provident....
And I would rather have Perth products like any of the lunar series compared to US or Canadian coins, but that is just me....
Also Brittania's are right up there with Perth IMO, an they have some of the good designs at Provident right now, right at 35 each, not bad at all...

Quote: awesome, your fortunate to have the disposable income to get a monster box Yeah, and it only took 10 years of saving every penny to get to this point... Seriously, my wife and I have been squirreling away as much as we can since getting married. Most has gone into our house (nearly paid for) and into a fund for our son's college education. Just recently, we've been trying to figure out what to invest the "excess" in for the long term. The stock market is scary and even real estate has been entirely too volatile lately to make us comfortable. Granted, PMs are also a bit of a crap shoot, but at least we feel that they will always hold some value (and may potentially increase in value over time), as opposed to stocks which can become worthless overnight. Anyway, we are certainly not sinking our life savings into PMs, but we have decided to start funneling some of our "extra" savings (stuff not earmarked for other purposes) into it. Worst case scenario will be that we have a bunch of shiny metal to keep us company in our retirement and not much else, but hopefully our then college-educated son will be able and willing to help us out if we need it.

I agree with Barry from a bullion perspective. I have PLENTY of SML's with milk spots and some. It really doesn't bother me that much. I am agressively going after the "weight" of silver at the moment rather than the numismatic side of things. I am patiently waiting for my turn to get a MONSTER BOX (of joy & PM happiness). I haven't pulled the trigger.......yet.

With Gold mart's pricing I would never buy another MB of either again. I can buy a 100 or 200 at the same price I can buy 500 for overtime minimizing the downside risk.
Barry I think you are smart for investing in PM's I just wouldn't put all my eggs in one basket. At least buy some gold to maybe even some platinum if you can get some cheap enough which can be a problem these days.
I heart GOLD MART :)
That being said $15K for a MB sounds like a great price
