Oh yes, right you are JimmyD, I have to fill
business strikes from 45, 47ML and 48, would love to have a
SP or PL strike from 1949 but may want to eat something
besides catfood in my retirement. All the rest of the 50's
in PL are very expensive as well, the toned one from '56
was discounted so I got it at a great price $70. I am just
sort of cherry picking any sales and filling slots as I go.
I may trade some NCLT for a 1945 before it tanks any
further.

I picked up some Canadian Mint sets from 1972-1976.
Here are the Nickle Dollars from those sets.

Luc, that's an absolute beaut! An original classic preceding the era of your NCLT silver dollar collection (recalling the list you posted awhile back that I've referred to from time to time as well...) I like the idea of one type complimenting the other, to represent a complete silver dollar series.

Very Nice Luc! I love the '35s as well... There's a few '35's in the next Geoffrey Bell auction I have my eye on... but I don't have that strong of a bid on 'em so not sure if I'll be walking home with any or not.. will have to just wait and see.... but a 65 WOW that's nice!

Thanks, while I don't have them all I do have every year except 1948 represented. I do have a nice 1947 Maple so in a sense 1948 is covered

Pick this token up at Thirsty's Flea Market today here in Winnipeg. But it wasn't the coin that was valuable for me.

Post-Your-Most-Recent-Canadian-Coin-Purchases!

I did not expect to see anything and did not even bring my loupe. Then I met Pete a coin collector who started collecting in the early 70s, who is exiting the hobby. We chatted for over 30 minutes, while I diligently went though his Canadian coin collection and glanced over his world coin collection. Pete was showing me some of his 5 cent vickies for sale. The token was the only coin I purchased, as I did not need anything else. We chatted about how we got into coin collecting, and coin varieties/errors. After he showed me all his coins for sale, I showed pics from my phone of my coin collection. Great conversation from one collector to another who discovered it was his time to exit his decades old hobby. I shook his hand as I left his table, in a show of respect.

FYI, Pete will be there next week.

Not a coin but still a nice collectible. I've long since wanted to add this beauty to my collection. ICCS graded MS66
First attempt at posting a scan, medal is somewhat rotated in the holder and looks better when viewed up close.
