Looks like chemical reaction. CLR,or an attempt with tarnex. it wouldnt be that clean if anywhere near any other coin..it would contaminate its environment..its gross...yours has drill holes or maybe you got "O" shaped holes and some other collector has "D" shaped...I have a few D shaped holed coins...just ugly.

This thing is REAL UGLY in hand lol ..

Nothing else in the roll really had anything out of the norm . (and didnt pay attention to where in the roll it was just laid them out and had at'em lol)

UGLY indeed tho . ill be holding onto it , fits in wit the other odd stuff I've put aside just for .. well no reason lol..

thanks for your insight tho . going to see if I can poke around and find anything with Known CLR or Other Damage to compare .. curiosity and well moreless just want to learn about the abuse these things go through basicly :-)

Post a pic if you got something ugly (well if you can/want to lol)

Wow! I've never see one with such great detail on the coin, but so corroded with holes. Definitely a keeper, since it is such an interesting coin to look at.

A plating split that the zinc was accelerated, probably was acid. Probably someone will figure out how to place dots on a cent in a pattern and dip it in a cleaner and make a message on a coin. I could see that happening. Then coating in a clear finish to stop the zinc rot. Probably it will happen real soon now. LOL
