DEAR FANS OF THE Sacagawea AND NATIVE DOLLARS !I recently completed my order for the 2012 P&D Native Dollars ! I got the P roll and the D roll (as per usual for me). And I got a couple Proof Sets as well for all of my Dansco album needs (again, as per usual) And MAN ! ..... I sure cannot wait to see this coin IN HAND though ! ...... More than once, my rolls have come with Sacagawea on BOTH ENDS (Obv. + Obv.) and I wasn't able to see the new reverse design "IN HAND", and that sucked ! ...... .... I hope there are some kind folks here on CCF getting the bags of these though. Anbody think they might order a bag ? I would like to have SOME way of getting one of these coins in "business strike", circulated or otherwise, in hand for this year. ( actually I'd like about 10 coins) I will be posting in the B.S.T. section at some point, down the line to try to acquire them. But since these are out now for the year........ anybody else excited by this one ?Do you think it will be the best design (conception) so far ?Design quality, I don't know, I'm not expecting an "improvement" over past years, likely exactly the same, but I really wish they'd take a page out of the ATB Qtrs. for that. You know, give the rendition some artistic depth.....things like that. But even if this years coin is "plain Jane", it is still coveted already by me, and I am certainly waiting for this one with MUCH anticipation ! Thoughts ? ...... Opinions ? ....... Condemnations ? .................... .................

Yes, I know you're one of those "I hate the baby sized dollar people" Carl ! And I realize that, for these coins, I'm in a very small niche. Being a " Western nut, amateur history buff, and a passionate studier of historical American Indian events, life and times kindo of thing, as well as a Mountain Man Rendezvous guy"..... THIS COIN IS RIGHT UP MY ALLEY ! ..... I used to COLLECT ANIMAL PELTS FOR GOLLY'S SAKE ! .... Since I've been married...... strange.....I no longer have my Wolf pelt on the wall....coyote & fox pelts on the fireplace mantle....buffalo rug isn't on the bedroom floor anymore.....black bear skull (and other animal skulls) are just packed away in a box somewhere....... Medicene Wheels, Dream Catchers, Coup Sticks, Shaman Rattles, bows & arrow sets, art work, and all kinds of other various things.......all in boxes somewhere... ...... Hummmm ...... Sigh ...... ahh well ! Ha Ha LoL ..... That's the way it goes right ? ....... But anyway Carl, that's also why my first sentence/heading in the post reads: DEAR "FANS" OF THE Sacagawea AND NATIVE DOLLARS !

They do have really nice designs each year and this year is another nice one. I'm looking forward to seeing one in person, once I buy the UNC and Proof sets this year. http://www.coinnews.net/2012/02/07/...ge-released/Pretty poor of the US mint to not have a nice photo of one on their ordering pages. Shows how poorly run of a company they are.

I have got only ONE animal pelt in my colletion.
That belongs to the family cat, and I am sure that HE doesn't want to be detached from it.
As you may well imagine, he has had a lifelong attachment TO it.

They (the pelts) DO look much nicer while the animal is still WEARING them ! LoL (Though actually, there seems to be 10 cats for every square acre of property IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD !....my cat stays INSIDE, as does my dog. The cats do take their toll on the local wildlife..... nobody seems to want to get their cats spayed/neutered. I feed birds year-round, and every day I'm watching one sneaking up to my feeders ! .....grrr !)

I only have the ones from the proof sets and have still not bought an album for these or the proof Presidential dollars. Maybe I would be motivated if you posted some photos of your Dansco albums.

I am planning buy the 2012 SAC's in P & D and maybe a proof. I really like the design on the 2012. I wish I could get rolls from the bank at face value though. John1

Gimme a couple days (or the weekend) to do it (father-in-law from Utah coming tomorrow for a week !) And you KNOW how much I enjoy trying to take a decent photo, putting it on "Photo-bucket", adding/downloading it to "my pictures", and then putting it on here ! But if it might motivate you or others to start their Dansco Native Dollar album, I'LL DO IT ! .... Mine is P, D, and S PROOF BABY ! AND IT IS 100% COMPLETE TOO ! (cept for 2012 of course..... I just ordered this one obviously !)

OK, this is what I have so far. Not the greatest pics as I havent figured out the art of photographing proofs... Since the name changed after the album was made, it just says Sacagawea on the cover. Anyone seen a Dansco with Sac/Native or the like?

Smoke.....Nice Set so far ! ...... Only 12 more coins for you to be complete and current ! ..... Are your P & D's from Mint Sets or where ? Did you seperate the "Satin Finish" ones from the regular biz. strikes ? Curious how you went about building yours ! .....

Quote: But all in all like my presidential dollars I enjoy collecting the set I only collect the Presidential dollars in Proofs with a really nice blue, date-set, Whitman album. (though I had been doing some folders, with these, for a Nephew, Daughter, etc. too)(I'll no longer be able to keep doing that since I can't score them from the bank any longer.... ..) I suppose the ones leftover from my Mint Sets, could be used to continue with one or two folders....gotta do SOMETHING with them. But I'm really only interested in the Proofs, as far as Prez. Dollars go. It will not bother me to not be truly "complete" with these when the series ends. Or ten years after that. This series is so watered down and unpopular, cheap and overproduced.......I just figure I have it covered with what I like from them, and that's good enough for me! But the Sac's and Natives are a WHOLE DIFFERENT STORY ! ..... THESE particular "baby dollars" are a real pleasure for me to collect. I'm not going to be buying any "slabbed" N.D.'s, or anything like that....... but I will always treasure my Proofs, Satins, and biz. strikes for a lifetime !
