Quote: OK, this is what I have so far. Not the greatest pics as I havent figured out the art of photographing proofs... Very nice, thank you for sharing. Quote: Anyone seen a Dansco with Sac/Native or the like? I have only seen the one labeled as yours is (8183).

I like the Native American series. I don't collect the uncirculated but enjoy the proof coins in my silver proof set.

Eagle, they are all from mint sets, so yes, they are satin 05-08. I will round it out the same way. Whenever I can, I use mint sets for the non proof coins. No matter what, the coins in all but my Lincoln proof Dansco are Unc. I just cant bring myself to put circulated coins next to proofs. I am sure I will be able to manage when it comes to the 32D&S and the 09S VDB, etc. Thankfully, none of that to worry about in the Sac or Kennedy or Jefferson or Ike or Roosie books.

Here's my Dansco....And yep, it's the 8183 (only one I know about)......I will buy another page for the years 2012-2015 when it's available......... but again......there's a REASON I do NOT take many photographs of coins ! .... I'm just HORRIBLE at it ! These were taken this morning at my office.......with ceiling fluorescent lights glaring down.....and no other light help or background color, that I might have used were I at home. And as everyone always says... ... " These coins appear much better in person, and the plastic sliders are showing scratches and glares that are NOT present on my coins !" .......................... ................. Perhaps it would've been better to slide the sliders out before taking the pics ? ....... OH ! AND HERE'S MY LITTLE HELPER !! ..........

Quote: Here's my Dansco.. Very nice! When I got to 2009, I just remembered why I have not bought a Sacagawea album yet: edge dates on the Native American dollars! They just look so... plain. Question: How do you know you really have the right ones in there? Answer: Look at the reverse. Which begs another question. Did you considered putting the 2009+ coin in reverse side up? Not sure how I will do it, but it is something to think about.

Jbuck, good point. I kind of like the uniformity of having the same side up through out though. Once I get those, I will put them in wrong way up and see if it raises the hackles or not. LOL

You know what goes well with a nice Sac set? A bowl of Cheerios.
I should get started on a Sac set. Already got the Cheerios part down, so just the coins to go.

Quote: Since I've been married...... strange.....I no longer have my Wolf pelt on the wall....coyote & fox pelts on the fireplace mantle... I once made a woodchuck-skin cap (instead of a coon); have a skunk hide I had slated for the same thing; 53 pound beaver hide I trapped on the wall; used to love survival camping; and could keep going. Does this mean I should be collecting Sacs too?

Quote: Does this mean I should be collecting Sacs too? Well of course it does ! ...... I have several "Mountain Man Rendezvous" hats. Best one is a Black Fox hat. My beaver pelt was turned into a large "possibles" bag with a nice soft leather strap. But yeah, the Sac coin is just "part" of all this to me..... Luv it ! JB....... Quote: Did you considered putting the 2009+ coin in reverse side up? Not sure how I will do it, but it is something to think about Yes I did. But, for the now, I chose the "uniformity" look. A more plain coin design ?..... Sometimes a less busy more simple look can work on a coin.........it works somehow for this coin, (though I do hate "edge lettering").

LOL Excellent! I await your assessment. Quote: Yes I did. But, for the now, I chose the "uniformity" look. I hear you guys. With the quarters it was a no-brainer since they are all going to be the same way, but with the dollars there ends up being a mix.

In most of my Danscos I have some sort of scheme for alternating between the obverse and reverse showing. Usually I organize it so that the mint-mark is facing forward on branch mint coins and the Philly coin will be opposite of that. For something like Jefferson nickels, that means my scheme ends up flipping in the middle when they move the mint-mark. For the Sacagawea dollars with proofs album, I want to see both the obverse and reverse designs in both business strike and proof, so I use a checkerboard pattern. For 2000, the obverse is forward for Philly and the Proof, for 2001, Denver has obverse forward, then 2002 is like 2000, etc. 2009 starts with the changing designs, so starting on the third page I have the reverse forward for Philly and the proof for every year.

Well, the "good" thing about the "uniformity" and using a Dansco slider (or others too)....... all you have to do is turn the page and all the reverses are easily seen right there on the left side ! ..... While you're enjoying flipping through the album, page after page, both the obverse and reverse are quite easily seen. So when I think of it that way, and view it that way, or show it to others that way.... it's really a non-issue for me. (And I can always put on the butler gloves and switch them around every few years too)

The Native American dollars are much nicer than the presidents on the dollars. But I collect them all anyway. I especially like all of the designs on the reverse from 2010 on. I don't really care for the 2009 reverse (just ok). I don't know why the mint moved the date and mintmark to the edge starting 2009, when it was perfectly fine on the obverse. Another stupid decision by the mint, I guess. I don't like putting proofs in an album (I don't want to touch them) so I keep them in the proof sets. I don't have book for the Native American dollars yet. I don't know what I am waiting for. I guess I will put it on my Christmas list this year. On other sets with different reverses, I also put the Philadelphia coin with the reverse facing the front and the Denver coin with the obverse facing the front. I will do the same with these coins.
