Paid $27, so I think I'm ok either way, but is this G4, or VG8? Still learning how to grade. I'm probably overly optimistic to be leaning towards VG8.

There's probably enough LIBERTY showing to scrape a VG-8. Those spots in the left obverse are a bit distracting. Are those areas of damage or corrosion? If so the coin should "net grade" below VG.

I will go with G-6 maybe VG-8.

Sorry, I didn't realize I had not subscribed to the thread. The spots to the left are probably corosion. I'll get a better pic zoomed in on them.

Also, so if this coin is a g6, is it worth the $27 I paid?
