I was given 2 silver Coins ( I think they are coins) with a 3 leaf Clover on it with NASA written on both sides. I tried googling it but cannot find anything and I found this site. I hope someone here is able to help.

Thank You

It is not a coin. It appears to be a good luck token. Most of these types of tokens are made from a base metal of some sort. Is it stamped silver, .999 fine, .925, etc. on the edge or reverse? If it is not then I would try to see if a magnet sticks to it. If it does, than it is not silver. It might just be a novelty piece.

I took a magnet of the fridge and it does not stick to the coin. I looked and there is no stampings. If it helps, it makes the same sound as a quarter when you drop it.

Thanks
Rest in Peace

That is pretty cool. I'm sort of a space program junkie so I love that kind of stuff.

I think you might find out more about it if you search for 'NASA souvenir tokens'.

The color looks a little bright to be silver, so I would guess it's made out of nickel. But I'm no expert so take that with a grain of salt.

Thanks for sharing. I love seeing that stuff!

Hi,

I took the photo with my phone, and if you hold it you will see its got a shinny silver look. I did look for NASA souvenir tokens and nothing looks like this one.

There are test kits to use to see if the metal is silver or not, but I know nothing about those and I would be afraid that they would damage the coin.

However, you can weigh and measure it. If it's the size of a Morgan dollar the weight should be about the same.

And if it is about an oz. of silver, then perhaps it isn't a token but silver bullion.

I surfed around for awhile looking for tokens with those markings and found nothing at all. So maybe it is just a silver bullion round. It's still cool.

Looks to be the silver jewelry plating, and probably an imp[luse buy in a bucket/basket next to the cash register. All of the NASA tokens/bullion that are silver are clearly marked all of them I have seen.
Nothing like it in the on line token catalog for NASA

And yes the metals test kits use a streak plate and acid to test so it can leave a mark, doesn't matter when done on the inside of a ring band.

You haven't said how big it is. If it "sounds like a quarter", I'm assuming it's about the same size as a quarter?

It looks to me like a Japanese-style arcade or pachinko token. Given that, and that there's no actual NASA symbolism on it, I think it's entirely possible that "nasa" here means something other than "NASA" and that it has nothing whatsoever to do with the American space programme.
