Thank you to the members who offered the most recent congratulations. Comet - hang in there - it'll come - I can't even begin to tell you how many I looked at (that I couldn't afford) before getting one.

Quote: don'y know about downhill - it has taken me seven years to complete these two sets of business strike Morgans - sticking with just the business strike ones because, frankly, I can't really afford the proof Morgans. I had misread your first post and thought that you still had a few more dates to go to complete your business strike sets. I thought this coin for your first set not realizing that it meant the completion of the second. Major congratulations to you! One set is already quite an accomplishment but two, I tip my hat to you.

vermontensium - I suppose so, but, in all truth, I consider myself just an old, shadetree collector at best - just love collecting coins, and have kept it as a fun hobby. I suppose, if I viewed it as an investment, I'd quit cracking the coins out of the plastic slabs, and putting them in my albums, but I think it's, probably, alot more enjoyable just keeping it as a fun hobby.

What a wonderful hobby it is! There are coins in my collection that I never plan on selling, and don't look at them as investments at all. I just love them and want to pass them down to loved ones. Who knows what they'll do with them

Congrats, Ralph! Two complete Morgan sets? That's impressive. I still need 58 more to complete my set. What made you decide to put together 2 sets of Morgan dollars?

Darth Morgan - thank you. What made me decide to put together two sets? Took me some years to finally complete the first set, and then the fun of upgrading the set took some more years - the second set began with the coins I upgraded - I used to give all my upgraded coins to my sister (she has a near complete set of Morgans) in hopes of getting her involved in collecting, but that didn't gel - to her, the coins she has are something to fall back on in an emergency - nothing more, so I began hanging onto my upgraded Morgans, and the second set grew from that. That's part of the reason - the other part is - I just love those old Morgan dollars. In truth, I've already begun a third set from upgraded, upgraded coins (only 10 so far) - I'll eventually, get it completed, too, but there's never a hurry in my collecting habits - I'm just having big fun. I wish you the best of luck in completing your Morgans - you're already over a third of the way - hang in there.

Thanks, Ralph. I'm with you- I just love those old Morgans too. There's just somethin' about 'em. I told my wife that if we adopt another baby girl I want to name her Morgan. No joke.

That's classic brother - work for a boy's name, too.....just in case you opted to go that way on the next adoption.

Guys, I thought, before this post gets pushed to the next page, I'd go ahead and post my other 1893 S Morgan - this is the first one I bought, and transfered to my second set.
