I have this 1934-D Nickel. Does anyone know what type of die error this is called and is there a FS number assigned? Any help is greatly appreciated.

You're too close to the coin to see much, but what I see looks like a die crack. This isn't something that would get an FS number, it's not a die variety. Die cracks are considered to be a normal and acceptable part of the minting process and on most coins don't bring any premium value.

Hi FCusumano

Welcome to the forum !!

Sometimes it is better to post pics of the whole coin ,, than try and enhance a close up.

Can you post a good clear pic of the coin ?

My thought is that the when the die was made that there was skipping from the top of the letters. More pictures.

FCusumano,

From the photos, looks like a normal circulated Buffalo nickel.Doesn,t appear to be anything special.

By the way,you take a pretty decent photo.

The first post showed the issue. I was then told to show the entire coin.
