I am using Coin Manage from Liberty Street as I believe others are as well. I love it. I think I needed to open the instruction booklet once since downloading it. Very easy to use, and I know there is a lot I did not even investigate yet. All I've done so far is try to add my coins to the database and include my own pictures.
Hope this helps.

Yes it does. It came with some values already preset. The only thing I've found so far now that you mention that aspect, is that I have some coins in some grades that don't have "values" for them through their software. I didn't even bother looking them up yet, but it does allow you to enter what you know to be the value. It also allows you to enter the price that you paid for it. I'm pretty sure this software will be anything I will ever need and then some. I also think you can upgrade online, as I believe Superdave or Bryan had mentioned in a post a long time ago. I haven't tried that yet, but I would imagine it would update to new pricing as well. I do not know if there's a cost associated with it either....

Thank you very much for the information. I have been using MS Access and also MS Money to keep everything in but would be nice to have the value plus or minus as to what your collection is worth.
Plan on letting it to my kids but would be nice if it is all documented so they do not give it away to some crook.

I only use my excel! I did try that other program I think it was called Numis something but it was not worth the time it took me to load 1/4 of my collection. I got 1/4 in and it told me I needed to update or upgrade not sure which one anymore as when I did the upgrade/date it was gone I have been looking for it but it was a lot easier to delete the whole program than it was to update/grade. you can add photos to it and I think that it runs around $150.00 or so a year I would put my money on the excel it updates itself as it is needed (if you set it up to) and it always saves itself. the other programs I have had no ZERO luck with at all in fact I put it in the trash last week.hope this helps Gary

Sorry Bruce. I thought you were asking a generic question. I wasn't aware of software actually called coin organizer. quote: playing with it once you enter a coin into the software I can't see anyway to edit or change the value such as quantity of that coins or say price is there away to edit an existing coin that you have entered must be overlooking something?
In Coin Manage, I just double click on the picture of one of my coins I have posted, whether it is my image or the default image, and it lets me edit. Hope this helps, Tighe

One thing to remember using Excel is it is probably on millions and millions of computers all over the world. If you make your own Excel spread sheet for coins and then back it up on a 3-12" flopy disc, you can see it almost anywhere on Earth. You can do anything with it anywhere you go. Of course in China Excel is in Chinese. With any other program you have to take the program with you.

I believe that setting up your own spreadsheet provides you the most flexibility and safety net....for your hard efforts. Once the data is entered you have the option to update, backup, restore, protect and modify the spreadsheet at your own level of use. I found so far that coin collecting software is to rigid and non-compatible with even data files.
