Hi all,
While researching the coin (a Tunisian 1/2 dinar) that made me so curious about bilingual coins, I found the Central Bank of Tunisia website, which has a store. That is common, what is uncommon is what it sells, and for how much. They sell a set of 7 less valuable coins for $5, and they also sell coins and notes withdrawn from circulation.

There's the link to see for yourself. Has anyone seen a central bank that sells coins for such a reasonable price? Usually they're at least $20 - $40 dollars. Everyone has been so helpful and informative, I'm sure I'll learn a lot.
Thanks!

I'm sure that it's theoretically possible because there's a Russian weekly magazine that apparently provides two new different withdrawn coins and/or banknotes from various world counties in every single new issue (and they're up to 16 issues already). Did I mention that so far both the coins and the banknotes all look uncirculated, and that the price of each issue is only about $6?

A few years ago I stumbled upon the St.Helena post office website, and they happened to have an online store. Besides stamps, cards and covers they had a few coins. I remember "loading up" on St.Helena and Ascension coins, including a bunch of commemoratives, all pretty much for face value. I had to wait for them for a couple of month because they shipped them by a (row ) boat, but that didn't bother me.

The Reserve Bank of Australia sells its latest notes for face value (first/last prefix notes cost a bit more). No coins though unfortunately.

Might want to give this page a check when you have the time http://gxseries.com/worldmoneylist.htm Compiled it a few years ago.

I've compiled the whole lot of them so some of the mints or related might be happy to sell coins directly to the public.

Kinda found it funny that the Tunisia bank still accepts payment in DM and not in Euros!

gxseries, that is an amazing website! I'm going to spend a lot of time enjoying it along with all the help in the bilingual thread.
