First off I love large dollars. And I love silver coins. I liked Morgan dollars a whole lot but for some reason they are no big deal to me now. But lately, all of a sudden I have fallen in love with Peace dollars. I like how they don't have as much detail as morgans. I like that it's a relatively short set, and not hard to but together in XF to MS (xf for the tougher dates). And I actually am a fan of the design. I just bought my first two Peace dollars for a set I am going to start. Bought 1924 and 1925 PCGS MS62 Peace dollars for $75 from an ebay seller. I'm shooting for MS62's as best I can and of course AU and maybe XF for the more expensive ones. I'm excited. Anyways, any other Peace dollar lovers around here? Care to show some photos of your beauties?

I like peace more then Morgans and I only have one. No photo and I forget what date, I think it's in the 30's. It's in xf-au and nothing major. I always wanted to get a 22-D in high grade because that's the year my mother was born. John1

I like both Morgan and Peace dollars. For awhile, Peace dollars didn't do much for me but they slowly grew on me and now I like them equally with Morgans. No photos to share at the moment though sorry.

I'm not in love but I still like them. Did you know that they were actually issued as commemorative coins to honor the end of WWI?

I am nine years away from completing this attractive short set. For some unexplainable reason, I am much more drawn to minimally worn, darkly toned circulated specimens than to the exceptionally shiny mint-state examples. Here is my favorite of the ones I have so far; it has been shown before but so many folks have commented favorably- and tried to buy it!- that it's worth another look. I also have an extra '21 available, not as nicely toned as this one, and lots of AU-BU 1922's for trade for other <worldwide> silver coins.

I like Peace dollars, but they are on the back burner while I slowly whittle down my 7070.

Oh yeah, I also prefer the Peace dollar over the Morgan. I have an 1896 that my Grandma left to me. She had gotten it the day of her birth in 1896. An Uncle placed it in her bassinet and she kept it all those years. I got it shortly after she died and promptly took toothpaste and toothbrush to it. Man was it shiny, lol. I put the old Morgan in a wedding ring box after I got married and left it there. I looked at it the other day after 40 years of sitting in that padded ring box. It's no longer shiny but it has the most beautiful toning you ever saw.
