PP and I had the opportunity to purchase this coin on the weekend. It's a 50c on a 20c planchet minted sometime between 1985 and 1997 As far as we are aware it's the first time it has appeared on the market. It arrived today and it's....well, it's amazing. Definitely going straight to the pool room. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

I have not seen a 50 on a 20 error before. If I were an auctioneer, I would guess it at around the $400 mark in value, based on values of similar wrong planchet errors.

I have quite a few errors in my collection, but this one is not represented.

Lucky boy! Congratulations!

It wasn't found in circulation. Just about all the marks you can see are because of extreme strike weakness rather than any wear.

At $400 Sel, I'd suspect that was a bargain.
I'd definately pay that.

We actually have two of the 10c on 5c planchet. A coin dealer at a stamp show had pulled them from a 10c roll.

I have seen 10's on 5's listed a couple of times in auction catalogues.
Never a 50 on a 20 before.
