Looks to be AU to me. Maybe 53 or even 55. Where do you find such well struck coins?

Slight wear on the high points and noticeable loss of luster in the fields. I don't see any defects or signs of improper cleaning. I'd give it an AU-53.

The 1851 is pretty scarce in spite of the 200,000+ mintage. I presume they were heavily melted after the silver content was reduced in 1853. You have a very nice example here; congrats!

Oops! I'm sorry, I never weighed in on this coin!!

The seller sold it as AU+. I agree with an AU53 grade, possibly 55.

All in all, I feel pretty lucky to have found this one!!
