Charlton 2012 --Sometimes It Is Bit Obscure For Beginners--

I am a humble beginner at collecting Canadian coins. I am very aware that this is a complex subject, and can only be mastered by careful fact gathering combined with "hands on" experience.
When using my Charlton reference book , looking for varieties etc., I find it hard to get all the info that I want for a particular coin.
Example;-
Page 107 Five cents.
2003 p-- plated
2003WP-- is that for "Winnipeg?" Where is it on the coin? I realize it's rare-- but where should a beginner look for a w?

Is there a Canadian Coins for Dummies?
I love this hobby!
Also-- I see the blue coin-holder blue booklets on ebay for about $4.00--$5.00. Is there a way to get them directly from the manufacturer. Would that be cheaper?

The W is for Winnipeg. The P is for Plated. It depends on the year and the coin but they are most frequently centred below the Queen. Sometimes the W will appear off to the right though.
