I check out Ikes that I get at local banks. Usually just for the 72 type 2's and 76 type 1's. Will be also keeping an eye out for the 71-D FEV in the future. Anyway, is the 71-S SPL fairly common or ? Thank's. The pics. are not great as I have trouble with cameos. Certain angles etc. show all these tiny spots. This particular coin I just picked up today for $5.00. What the heck. The seller stated that he had bought it off of a dealer. The flip was marked DDO SPL Peg Leg. The peg leg checks out but do not see any doubling. Is there also a DDO for this yr. seperate or along with the SPL. Thank's for looking and reading.
I just sold 2 silver peg legs of this year along with three other ones without it and all of them sold in the same price range. You got a good deal if you got it for $5 though as the silver is worth more.
Yes, I think so. It is a nice looking coin in hand though. Will just treat it as you mentioned. Actually there is a little premium though on decent Ike proofs. This coin never really caught on for whatever reason but maybe one day it will.
