I just love this nickel series and have been collecting all the silver proofs since they started making them.
I have all the nickels and some of the varieties since 1922.
Here's what came in the mail today.
Oh I do still need the circulating version and I might as well catch up on the reverse specimen coins.

Very nice TNG! It looks like the beaver has a horn on his head! Is that a die chip?

I wonder if the U.S. Mint would ever do a silver proof Nickel for collectors?

The RAM does a fine silver all denominations proof set each year.

Sweet coin Mate
There is just something so attractive about a well stuck silver proof coin.
Shame about the "cleaning lady" portrait of the queen but
This looks a bit more regal

^^^ Is that illegal?

That's a fantasy "coin" (medallion) with Edward VIII on the obverse? They reversed the beaver to avoid copyright issues.

Yes. The Ian Rank-Broadley effigy is definitely superior to Susan Blunt's.

Where did the 1936 "illegal" nickel come from?
