Ok here is an interesting MM on the back of this 1964D Quarter. To me it looks like a D over another D. Does this appear to be a RPM to you all or something else.

Thanks

JimR,

Based on photo, which is just a little blurry,I would have to say no.

Looks like some post mint damage going on there.

Let me preface this by saying I am very new at looking for and identifying RPM's and double dies ect.

This may be post mint damage. I am having a hard time understanding how post mint damage to this MM could be so symetric. What I mean is what appears to be an underlying D matches the shape of the primary D.

It just seems to uniform to be post mint damage but again I will be the first to admit I am a novice at this.

What say other resident error experts.

It's not post-mint damage, it's a simple case of mintmark eject doubling. The mintmark gets caught on the die sometimes and gets squashed over to one side. Sometimes it's more prevalent than other times. One of the key characteristics of this is the fact that the outline of your doubled mintmark is exactly the same as a normal mintmark. If it were an RPM, the outline would be larger.
