In the following photo I have copies of the large die and small die reverse. Does anyone have an approximate breakdown of how common each variety is in the wild?

I remember posting about this not long ago (though I can't find the thread). I found that one of them was around one in 10 Suffrage dollars, but I can't remember which one it was.

Apparently the one on the left was replaced by the one on the right due to propensity towards die cracks - just wondering what this factored out to in the real world...

Hi FNQ,
I have catalogued 522 of these coins and 114 were the small die variety (the one on the right) and 408 were large die variety coins. Based on these numbers 22% of the coins are small die variety and 78% are large die variety. My method of determining large and small die varieties is to look at the length of the third prong of the trident (left most prong). The large dies have a short trident and small dies have a longer trident.

Thanks Hunter. Exactly what I was after, and with a large enough sample size to get a good picture of relative scarcity.

The thickness of the letters for one - look at the LL in DOLLAR for example.
