Went today to collect the $400 of 20¢ I had ordered for this week's noodling. No coins! Armaguard van set off this morning for regular Wednesday run and...first stop, plenty of notes and no coin! Someone forgot to load it. Not sure what other towns they service on this run (maybe Mudgee, Dunedoo and Coolah; banks and supermarkets) but, big weekend here ( http://www.gulgong.net/) and everyone wants change. So, a special trip tomorrow to deliver coin. A slap on the hand is in order for someone. Jeff

Going by the title I thought you'd found some spectacular error in a roll. Oh well. Hope you get your coins soon anyway.

Jeff, do you get your coins from the same bank all the time and do you deposit them at that bank when you have finished noodling?

Hi Trout, Bags of coins are obtained and returned at same bank. I alternate weeks between 20¢ and 50¢. Sometime they ask me to return coins in the small zip lock change bags for their own stock -happy to do that and they are happy not to have to bag them up. Also, sometimes they have an extra bag for themselves and they ask me if I want to go through that first (of course). And, They let me know if they receive a bag of another denomination that looks to be all new coins eg. $100 of 2010 10¢ a few weeks ago. And, if they get a big moneybox or 1¢/2¢, paper note etc. returns they let me know too. It helps to be in a small town where everyone basically knows everone else.

it's good to see that Aussis small towns still have that attitude Jeff I live about 30k's out of town and when I get the urge to noodle I just ask at the local store/post offic if they need any change. I then go into town and get the change and take it to the store after I have had a good look through it. It's all win win

Hi Deano, Armaguard (and Chubb etc.) only generally service bank branches and high cash turnover shops, such as supermarkets. You can obtain any change you want from bank branches but, if you waltz in wanting hundreds of dollars they may not have enough spare on hand. In that case they can order it for you with their next delivery.
Helps to build a rapport with the counter staff. I have heard that some places have a negative attitude. Best thing to do is ask at your local branch. But don't discount that other banks in the area may be happy to provide you too, even if you aren't a customer.
Bulk coin can also be obtained from places, like laundromats, that have coin operated equipment but you would really need to know the operators to get access there. You have to convince them to trust you an and offer to sort and bag the coin is usually appreciated. Of course, coin operated vending machines, parking meters and such are rather scarce now.

Got the coins yesterday. Weren't there at lunchtime but were there just before closing time. And, bank has several more bags for change orders for the long weekend so, I can take back $200 in small bags this morning and get another two bulk bags. Looking Through a glass Onion sounds good -has had a lot of favourable reviews. The Prince of Wales Opera House is a fantastic venue for such a show. http://www.gulgong.net/prince_of_wa...ra_house.phpJeff
