Just found this dime while roll hunting. It seems to have a double rim, maybe just very slightly off center, but the weird thing is that the inner rim seems to have some reeding.I've seen coins with a double rim but none like this one.

That is curious.

I have a whole bunch of coins that have a rim that is thicker on one side and some have a line or dent. I have assumed that the band that makes the rim is, from time to time, somewhat less than perfect.

I wonder if that's the case with your coin. It doesn't seem possible (to me)that it could be caused by the machine making the coin.

I'll be back to see what the experts say.

Slightly misaligned obverse die. no premium, and very very common.

Yeah, I know it's nothing super special. I just thought it was curious that the inner rim had a bit of reeding in it. I was wondering if anyone knew how the inner rim happened to end up with reeding instead of a smooth line bisecting the rim like with other dimes I've seen.

Thanks biokemist6!

Boy, did I have it wrong. LOL

I knew they couldn't be any big deal because I never saw anything like them on the error coin sites -- and I found more than a few.
