Last 100,000 cents searched has yeilded no WAM's. I'm getting the feeling that these are all but out of curculation now. Either that, or I'm hitting a dry spell.

Coppers are down to about 15% per box now too. I get the feeling they are being pulled from circulation now like silver was back in the day. Two years ago I was pulling 30% plus from boxes. The copper is disappering fast.

Anyone else seeing simular numbers?

The WAMS are getting scarcer. I found a half dozen of 2000's over the years, one 98 and 0 99's. I live in new england also. Mass. Nothing lately.
My copper in bank roll's is about 20/25% now.
I find more copper with my metal detector. That rate
is 50/50 copper/zinc.

Found one 2000 a few weeks back, but that was just by chance. Went to the market and asked for a roll of pennies up here in Alaska. Before that hundreds of rolls and nothing.

I have no clue how many boxes I've gone through but I've yet to find a wammy much less a cammy. Ryedale miners are really depleting the coppers.

I've noticed the same things here in south Florida. I'm in a real dry spell for WAMs. The coppers are dwindling also. I did find a nice 1941 DDO #002 yesterday that's posted on this forum Prior to that nothing good for too long a time.

I've noticed I find more WAMs in the home rolls instead of the bank rolls.

I love how you guys can use "dry spell" and " WAM" in the same sentence! LOL... I have dedicated all my attention to completing a trio by looking for the 98 and 00, already have the 99... by just searching countless boxes for just those two! LOL NOT ONE! hahahaa

There is a reason why they are worth a premium....because they are rare. If you found one every box they would be as collectible.

Where did you hear about a 96 WAM? Variety Vista doesn't list one.

The only 1996 wide-AM ever reported was a fake. There has never been a verifiable example found.

If anything, the 93 would be the logical choice to show up
as the earliest. Not a one found. Yet :)
No harm to check 93 through 2008 (besides the 3 others) while your busy at it anyway.

I honestly get the excitement of searching through rolls and rolls for an elusive coin. But honestly, just by chance I saw an auction ending with two 2000 wams and bought them for $4.25..with free shipping.
