Moving to Fort Campbell, KY in two days. I hope my roll searching finds increase. Does anyone know of a good coin shop in Kentucky or Tennessee?

There are a few shops in Louisville KY, only one of which I would call good. I don't know anything about TN. Frankly when it comes to coin shops, clubs, shows etc KY is pretty much the black hole of Calcutta. There are two coin clubs in Louisville. Lexington and Paducah seem to try to form one or have a coin show every ten years or so and fade away again. They don't even have a state organization anymore. It folded and was absorbed by the Louisville Coin Club this past year.

About the only good thing I can say about the area is that you are almost as likely to find P mint coins in change as you are to find D mint coins. They are very near the border of distribution between the two mints. In Louisville I got a box that was about 75% D mint. In Nashville I got a box that was exactly the opposite. I have heard other people say they get very mixed results from that line of longitude. I guess it just depends on where the trucks that deliver coins come from that day.

Amen to that, brother!

And may I have a SECOND Amen!

I live in Lexington, which is probably too far from Fort Campbell to make it worth the trip. Not that you would want to make it, at least for any numismatic reasons. One store, and not a great one. No shows, no club. Roll searching is not bad, though; you do get a good mix of the two major mints with some "S" mint coins sprinkled in.

That is awesome to be in a location to get a great mixture of mint marked coins like that.

No worries, I plan on hitting it hard once I move in. Who knows maybe I will grab rolls along the way as I drive from Alaska.:)
