Came up on a 1946-P that I'm having some trouble identifying. From what I can tell there is more nostrils, eyes, and noses than I can count! A great find that made my day indeed, hope you all enjoy it too! Cud marks on bust appear in placings suggesting DDO-4: Looking closely you can see ghost images of Lincoln; A: eye, B: nose tip for eye A?, C: second eye, D: nose bridge of C If you search for the unique rounded shape of his nostril and trace the nose line up you can see quite a few ghost images: Thought this was a great find for only buying a couple 50ΒΆ rolls today. Let me know what variety you all think this. Hope you all enjoyed, CoinZeta Edited by CoinZeta 06/10/2012 10:58 pm

I see a normal coin. I believe you are looking too hard.

all I see is a normal coin. Most probably PMD that coincidentally looks like facial features, although I cant see the resemblance.

I posted the eye repeats for fun, I have no doubt this is doubled. Just look at the width of that 4! All the other markers I didn't included just to show the eyes, probably rushed the photos in my excitement resulting in low quality. Wish you could see what I'm looking at on my HD. There's almost a straight line of eyes running from one side to the other.

Not possible! The 4 looks like it took a hit.

We've all been there hoping we had something we really didn't. This is a great site for learning with lots of experts in all aspects of numismatics. By the way, I think LWC is preferred to wbc. Welcome to the site.

There is no possible explanation as to how a nose, eye etc could appear that far out in the field.

I'm probably imagining the farther out ones, although my images really aren't doing my argument justice, I've got a group of friends staring at the most prevalent ghost image on my hd and it's impossible to not see. But quite honestly I'll play humble and quit and claim newb-ness on this one!

CoinZeta - It would do you a lot of good to learn more about the minting process. What is possible, what is out there, and what is downright impossible. What you claim is not possible in the United States minting process. Simply put. Ghost eyes, way-off doubling, extra eyes - these are all your imagination. I hate to say it's all in your head, but it is.
The width of the 4 digit on your coin is completely normal for 1946 cents. I've been through over 10,000 of them in my past, and know this to be fact. Your coin is simply a normal 1946 cent, in its present condition it has a value of 3-5 cents.
