I feel like I stole this at $27. Another "OBO" on ebay that no one took the time to negotiate with the guy on. I went back and forth for several conversations and eventually my Jedi Mind Trick worked. Under 5x magnification I feel like I am seeing near VF details in her hair, ear and other points on the obverse. Please review and let me know what you think.

I am thinking F-15 to VF-20, ($50 (F-12) to $94 (VF-20)) numismedia fair market value roughly $80. I think you did very well (updating ebay to look for list...)

It does look close to VF. Bust dimes are not widely collected and good deals can be found. This was a good deal.

IDK why they are not widely collected because they are beautiful from a historic standpoint. All early to middle 19th Century coinage in the US has tremendous artwork. The artwork that was produced is fantastic and will never be reproduced IMO. I guess the collecting market, like any other market, sees the people go with market trends rather than stopping to the smell the prettiest flowers. Oh well, everyone else is at a loss because I will pay south of $30 10x over to have a great coin like this in my collection.
Rest in Peace

I would give it a F-15 but it is close to a VF. Great buy!

dsfreeworld: I agree that Bust Dimes are beautiful and historic works of art. I encourage you to sign up for the John Reich Collectors Society's The JR Newsletter . It is the official weekly e-magazine of the JRCS. They often have cool pictures and interesting tid-bits of information on Bust coinage. There is no charge and no obligation to join JRCS.
